Be Still

Be still.
Listen
The listening is the singing.
And life is the song
The most beautiful one I know-
The sound of our breathing.

Though we may feel isolated or divided
Love gives us the power to DISCOVER
deeper ways of knowing,
to EXPLORE our spiritual lives,
to transform communities and societies
so all people can flourish.

Together in this expanding movement,
we can create a more LOVING world for ALL.

Prayer for a Pandemic

God of light
And God of mystery,
give us the faith to see you
in the grey dimness
of this time.

Give us the heart to hear,
in the silence of the sick,
the call to care for those
in pain.

Give us the courage
to find you
where you do not now
appear to be.

Give us the trust it takes
to make our way
through this uncertainity,
this fear,
this seemingly irredeemable sense of limitless loss
to the recognition
of the relentless hope
that each seasonal cycle
of life
confirms us.

You who made all things
for our good and growth
show us, too, now
the power of darkness
so that we may see newly-
beyond the ephemeral-
to what are really
the gloriously important things
in life.

A Hard but Holy Journey

I have been very pre-occupied with my youngest brother’s welfare. At age 61 he has a diagnosis of Early Onset Alzheimer’s disease. This is a tragedy. I have, however, risen to the occasion and am literally my brother’s keeper. I have Powers of Attorney in order to preserve his future. I feel blessed to have such an opportunity to accompany him on this hard but holy journey. Please pray for me and mine.
